Innovative energy solutions: Solar process heat in industrial surface treatment

In the edition 03/2024 of PROZESSWÄRME, the leading German trade journal for industrial thermal process technology, heat treatment, plant construction and operation, Martin Scheuerer and John Mitchell have published a technical article on the subject of ‘Solar process heat for surface treatment’.

The article explains the basics of solar thermal energy generation and its application in industrial surface treatment. Various technologies are presented on how solar process heat can be generated and stored, as well as the integration of these systems into existing industrial processes. Particular attention will be paid to economic efficiency, current funding opportunities and the political framework conditions such as the CO2 tax, which are intended to promote the use of such technologies.

Martin Scheuerer and John Mitchell emphasise that solar process heat not only contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions, but also enables significant energy savings for companies. This is particularly relevant in view of the increasing political and social demands for the decarbonisation of industry.

Further details and the complete article (in German) can be found in the 03/2024 issue of PROZESSWÄRME.
